My doctor asked me the standard questions. Was there anything stressful going on in my life? Nope, nothing unusual. Are you experiencing any new illnesses or diseases? Nope. Are you taking any medications? No medications at all. He suggested two things to help me with my sleep. He could prescribe some sleeping pills for me that would do the trick, but I wasn't too thrilled about that. I don't want to risk getting addicted to them. He also suggested I look into getting a new mattress.
He said most people kept their mattress for too long and found it hard to sleep. They could each and every spring in the bed, and tossed and turned trying to get to some sleep. So he suggested I go out and look for a memory foam mattress topper or mattress pad to help me get some sleep. If that didn't work, there were a couple of other things we could try to help me get some sleep.
So I went out and picked up a nice memory foam mattress pad to get see how it would feel before I bought the more expensive memory foam mattress. Well, I felt the difference the first night. It was soft, yet firm enough to support my entire body which allowed me to actually get 5 hours of sleep. That is a huge improvement of the three disjointed hours I was currently getting. So I'm going back to my doctor soon to what else he can offer so that I can a full 7 hours of sleep a night.
